When I was first presented with the Ordinary’s new Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner, I’m pretty sure I turned into the 😍 emoji. Very few new products these days can elicit a strong emotional reaction from me but I needed this in my life, on my skin. Immediately.
If SK-II Pitera Facial Treatment Essence got with a lightweight, milky emulsion, this would be their lovechild
Here’s a quick breakdown after I’ve been using this for 2 months now and yes, my skin feels like mochi :
The Ordinary. Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner
For: Anyone with skin. This will improve overall appearance, texture and condition. Those with sensitive skin will particularly appreciate this!
Function: A first treatment that gives long-lasting hydration and resurfaces skin surface gently. Also clinically proven to visibly reduce the appearance of pores in as soon as 2 weeks as well as fade pigmentation by 22% in 6 weeks*.
Price: $14 USD
Formula highlights: Perfect for my sensitive skin as I use direct acids sparingly. This has tremendously improved my skin texture over time and is surprisingly hydrating given its texture. The milky balance is also moisturizing in a subtle, skin softening way.
How I use in my routine: After cleansing on a clean face, otherwise after serum if the serum has a thinner consistency. In the am I use this after my Vitamin C serum and in the pm, this is applied after my NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum. Gentle enough to use 2x a day.
What I don’t love: This is very watery and during application it can be messy as the liquid will run through fingers and down hands. However, I apply a few drops to my cupped palms and apply the formula palm to face (as shown in video) which helps a lot. This has a fermented ‘scent’ that I don’t mind as it’s not strong, but can imagine some may not love.
Additional Details: Neutral pH5-6, Oil-free, Alcohol-free, Silicone-free, Vegan, Cruelty-Free
Final thoughts: A new personal favourite from the brand.
*Clinical testing on 25 people, after using product 2x/day for 2 weeks
