While in the spirit of supporting a healthy community by staying far away from one another, captive in our homes, is it just me or has there been a surge in online sales? As always, I’ve been getting requests for my picks from one of the biggest sales, the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty event where select treasures are 50% off. I know I’ve missed a few days, but my picks start pretty late into the first week and I found some of my forever loves. So mark your calendars because these will only be on sale for 24 hours and the dates matter! It’s stock up time.

1. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
Regular Price: $27
Sale Price: $13.50
For complexion makeup, I pretty much depend on concealer for the circles under my eyes and some hyperpigmentation coverage. Shape Tape is about as good as it gets. Infact, I would rank it up there with IT cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye as far as coverage goes and how neither settle into lines and blend seamlessly into the skin. This one differs in that it’s not as thick and therefore more elegant and easy in application. I use 16N Fair-Light Neutral (I choose concealer shades that match my actual skin tone). This has a nice blurring effect on me.

2. Urban Decay Cosmetics Sin Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Regular Price: $24
Sale Price: $12
The original Primer Potion is the only eyeshadow primer I use. But this version is a 2-in-1 in the best possible way. You might be surprised that eye primer is a staple for me considering my eye makeup is minimal. I need this because I have greasy eyelids with an Asian ‘double-fold’, so when I wear eye-liner, it gets easily transferred to my upper lid as well as smudge under my eyes. I have the same issue with Mascara. Waterproof products won’t make a difference since the issue is oil. When I use a primer, that ceases to happen, so I need primer just to keep my liner and mascara from smudging. I also love a subtle wash of shimmer on my lids and that’s what the Sin Primer Potion does. It gives a beautiful hint of brightening glimmer. I love the way it looks and it’s seriously long-wearing.

3. Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum
Regular Price: $65
Sale Price: $32.50
This stuff works. It really works. I’ve been using it for around 2 years now – it replaced my Revitalash which I had used previously and works as well, at a lower price. This is what I’m stocking up on. Great to use in conjunction with lash extensions to strengthen them and encourage growth. FYI, the brow version is also very effective. So effective, I had to trim my brows often, they grew so fast.

5. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer
Regular Price: $26
Sale Price: $13 (online only)
This was the first moisturizer I ever purchased at Sephora. At the time, FAB was new and a small collection of products for sensitive skin. I recently revisited this and love it even more now. It’s the ultimate moisturizer for compromised, sensitive skin that needs some barrier repair. This has a lightweight, gel-lotion texture but moisturises effectively with fast absorption. Contains all the skin soothing and reparative ingredients like urea, oats, allantoin, ceramides, meadowfoam seed oil and nothing that might irritate.

6. IT Brushes For ULTA Airbrush Powder Wand Brush #108
Regular Price: $26
Sale Price:$13
I love IT cosmetics soft, fluffy face brushes and this one replaced my previous favourite from them, the Heavenly Wand Ball powder brush #8. I rarely use face powder but I use this for blush and bronzer application. I prefer a larger, loose brush head for a natural soft powder blush application. The brush head for the 108 is smaller than the Wand Ball 8 which makes it the perfect size for my cheeks.

7. First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (60 ct & 28 ct)
Regular Price: $17-34
Sale Price: $8.50-17
One of the gentlest acid treatments, the 28ct was my perfect travel companion last year. To be used right after cleansing in the pm, this acts as a 2-in-1 acid toner as it’s also very hydrating. This contains lactic and glycolic acids (AHA’s) in a soothing aloe, cucumber and licorice formula. No irritation, redness or tingling after using this. It gives a gentle exfoliation and leaves skin glowing. Great for sensitive skin.

8. COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
Regular Price: $19
Sale Price: $9.50 (online only)
A favourite of many, this toner is the gentlest AHA/BHA toner. Gentle enough to be used everyday to keep skin balanced. I wouldn’t say this exfoliates, the percentage of glycolic acid in the formula is so low, it serves more as a humectant to hydrate your skin than an exfoliant. I love the simplicity of this formula with only 12 ingredients that will help to keep the blackheads and whiteheads away with regular use. There are also skin-soothing and hydrating ingredients. Fantastic toner for anyone with oily, acne prone skin.

9. Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum
Regular Price: $39
Sale Price: $19.50
Just one of my favourite serums. This hydrates, nourishes, brightens, smoothes, calms and is age-preventative. A benefit for all skin types and conditions, this is lightweight, fast absorbing, never sticky and leaves my skin looking glossy and healthy. Well-rounded and fabulous.
